C’est si bonne!

This morning I had French toast made with French bread in France and served with French strawberry jam. It made me happy, so I took a picture.

I’ve been doing yoga here in my apartment , though haven’t been able to find a place where one could purchase a yoga mat. (My suitcase was too stuffed to fit one in from home.). After trying different surfaces (the floor is concrete hard) I decided that my little bed is firm enough and pretty close to yoga mat size. I’m sure they do yoga in France. They must get their mats in larger centres.

Fully fed and stretched, today is the day to try to get some of my broken stuff fixed. First I headed to a shop where they might be able to fix my keyboard. Ignore the chair on the sign. The window says Répar Phone.

A very nice young man spent quite a bit of time trying to get the pieces back together, demonstrating great skill and patience with the teeny tiny pieces, but in the end he said lots of things which included cassé. I said that I would pay him for his time, but he declined. Very kind.

So next – try and get my glasses fixed. Here’s the shop I picked. (Except for yoga mats this town has everything.)

Pretty uptown, right? I thought it might be expensive but they could probably do it.

I really appreciated the woman’s take-charge attitude. While I was struggling for the words she grabbed my glasses and disappeared into the back. Five minutes later she returned and they were fixed! Wow! So I started up with the Combien coût… and she just shook her head. I was in tears with joy. Nice people everywhere!

The next errand was groceries. I wonder if they’d get twitched if I started taking pictures in the grocery store.

I’ve been thinking how great it’s going to be to have all my memories on this blog, to be able to read them when I’m too old to remember any of this. I must get grocery store pics because I seem to spend a lot of time there.

No grocery store pictures yet, but here’s a little street by the back door to the grocery store. See all the blossoms. I bet we don’t have them at home Yet. The back doors to the grocery stores aren’t nearly as pleasant either.

And here are a couple of other interesting doors. They do a much better job of doors than we do generally. I’ve been thinking of doing an entire blog post on doors that I find interesting.

And notice the wires on the front of the house above that last door. It wasn’t until I saw the following shot I realized there are no power lines anywhere. It’s all done underground or, like above, on the buildings. No poles anywhere. I like it.

More blossoms on the way back home. (Because I had to go around that truck.)

And even the weeping willow is growing leaves.

So it appears that summer is on the way. And I believe I may have inadvertently found where they sell yoga mats! While looking at my pictures I came across this. What is a Super U? Maybe a cross between Walmart and Canadian Tire? Let’s find out! Tomorrow.

All errands accomplished! A quiet but productive day.

Love to you all.
