Today was absolutely lovely. I watched a bird make its nest in a rampart wall, and I watched a mother duck try to keep her ducklings in line while floating on the river.

In fact it’s been such a fantastic trip that I’ve made the giant decision to move to France. It’s just too nice a place, with too great a climate, to say no to.

It will take a while for the immigration process to be finished, but I already have a job lined up. And my employer is going to sponsor me, or whatever they do here. I’ll be working this summer here, at this restaurant belonging to Madame Grégoire. She’s the nicest lady and she’s really happy about having someone who speaks English. My French can do nothing but improve!

Doesn’t it look perfect! I’ve already taken the first step in getting settled. I’ve invested in real estate! It’s an old chateau that is in the process of being renovated into condos!

We’ll have two bedrooms, so company will be always welcome, and they’re planning a pool and tennis court out back. It’s going to take a while to be completed so, in the meantime, I’ve arranged to rent this place. It’s not fancy but it covers all our needs and isn’t too far from the restaurant. When can you get here DH?

I know you’ll have a few details to take care of before you join me, not the least of which will be getting our boy Bleu all organized for international travel. He doesn’t look all that happy about it, does he.
