“Oh Look!” I exclaimed. “We found an olive tree with grapes on it!” Old age has taken its toll.
Love the light fixture! We’re walking through town to the Royal City.
We are heading up to the Cité Royale to visit the Logis Royal. Jeanne D’Arc was here 607 years ago.

A second trip for me to the Logis Royal, and an opportunity to see things I missed before.
Who looked through these old windows. What did they see?

You might not be able to see him, but this is a dog. A really old dog.
The relationship the king had with Agnes Sorel seems to have been a pretty serious thing. There’s a chapel of sorts built to her memory.

There are reminders of her all around town. There’s a cultural centre here that was built in 1994 that bears her name.

Next we headed to the Donjon.
We found an area used for prisons that I hadn’t seen before. They had Bishops in prison here who built themselves a makeshift altar.

Here’s what passed for a lavatory for prisoners. The effluent all ran down to the cellars and flowed away to a ditch. The ditches have been filled in. Yay!

We went to the top of that wavy stone roof again and, looking over the edge, I found out what was behind that wall I’ve been wondering about for a month and a half. It’s a garden!
Ma sœur is quite brave when it comes to high places.
In fact ma Sœur went up those rickety stairs toward the top of the donjon.

Look at the wear on those steps!
When this place had four stories and a roof, it was heated by giant fireplaces, which you can see the remains of (mostly the chimney outlets) going up the wall.

The place is full of pigeons. The sounds are amazing. Can you see the little guy sitting on the stone block wall?
This is where you shoot your guns or arrows from. Or maybe just look out to see what kind of day it is.

Then, of course, we went for lunch. I’m writing this after 9pm and I’m still full.

And we found two cats.

Love to you all!
