Today we went to two art exhibits in the City of Loches. Getting to the first one we had to walk past these in a window. Adorable little chickens.
Easter must be near.
We arrived at the Chancellerie and Maison du Centaure and it was open! It’s been closed until now.
These are two old mansions from the 16th century which house a permanent exhibit on the history of Loches. Really beautiful houses and interesting exhibits.

There is paint on the walls. Apparently this is authentic. The facade of one of these houses was inspired by Michelangelo’s works, but of course I don’t have a photo of the outside. I liked the tiles on the floors.

There’s a green space in the back that they use for concerts.

And there’s a courtyard between the two houses.

The next place we went was a church. It was established in one of the buildings of the former Ursulines convent created in 1626. The building was originally a dormitory and dining hall, but it makes a great church.

The organ is up in a loft.
Inside there’s a statue honouring Joan of Arc.

It’s a beautiful church.

Attached to the church is a small gallery that has church relics and some paintings. They believe some are by Caravaggio.
The lady on the left is carved from lime wood.

Outside, across the street, is the former courthouse again.
The internet is extremely slow today, so the rest will have to wait for tomorrow.
Hugs all round.
