Food Day

Here are some yummy pics! We had a day of eating things we wouldn’t eat at home.

After a wonderful coffee and croissant breakfast we toured and explored, finally finding our way to our favourite restaurant so far. The above pic is the back of the restaurant from the Jardin Public, and the below pic is from inside the restaurant.

Inside it’s beautiful. There were quite a few people here, but I managed to photo around them.

It has a fireplace that has ashes in it. Maybe they burn it during the cooler evenings.

All meals in France include a basket of bread.

My entree was white asparagus in a lemony sauce. Very nice. My plat was crispy white fish with lobster sauce, eggplant purée, carrots, and an interesting oniony mixture under the fish. Very nice again!

No, I didn’t have two desserts. The crème caramel belongs to ma sœur. Mine was called strawberry tiramisu but it was more like strawberries and cream. Very delicious. You can see from ma soeur’s elbows that she’s taking a photo too. We are an interesting duo.

After lunch we wandered and explored again.

Today we went into the swimming pool! There’s a quiet period here between 1ish and 4ish when things close down (certainly our front desk closes) and today there was no one in the pool during that time, so we grabbed the chance to have it all to ourselves. It was great. The truth is we swam like fishes and looked fantastic. Sorry, no photos. 🙂

We also did laundry today. Yes, it was a big day. When checking if the dryer was ready the laundry room door handle came off in my hand! A good time was had by all.

At the end of a day it’s nice to sit and have a cool beer at La Loire en Tonneaux. The lady there is very friendly and won’t speak to me in english because she knows I’m working on my French. She is affectionately knows as “my wine lady”.

It being market day, I took a few pictures. Here are a couple of my favourites.

It was like two days in one. Tomorrow we’re going to Tours for the day so there won’t be a blog post.

Love to you all.
