Quick trip to Auchan this morning when I discovered I was responsible for supplying my own papier toilette et sacs poubelle. Thankfully Auchan doesn’t close on Mondays! I picked up une baguette traditional et deux croissants on my way back, as the boulangerie was open too! Add that deliciousness to my mushroom and goat cheese omelette and I had a huge breakfast before heading out in the opposite direction today – away from town centre.

The jardin public is a short walk from my apartment and has a great view of the Logis Royal that was built as a residence for the Kings of France who spent long periods in Loches in the Middle Ages. The plants in the public garden demonstrate the marvellous climate here.

Yes those are cacti and if you look closely there’s a palm tree in front of the pavilion. That’s one big stump too! It’s a good 4 or 5 feet across. No information about the former tree though.
This is the trail. The spire in the distance is where we’re heading. It’s a very tidy wilderness.

This is the wildlife.
And this is where we end up. It’s Beaulieu where there was/is? an abbey. It’s a very small town but there are some very interesting things.

At the foot of this door was a little deceased hedgehog. He must have been hit by a passing car. I thought this was a good monument for him. In his heart he was a lion.

This Middle Ages building hides the Maison des Templiers. It is incredible with its old stone and sagging beams. Deserves a blog posts all its own! Next time DH?

And then I walked back. And on the way I met a friendly face.

And found the house of my dreams.. plus it’s for sale!

Love to you all.

Want to buy it together?
How far did you walk?
I would rent part of the for sale house from you!
