Goodbye Paris

Well I packed. I packed at the apartment, I repacked at the train station in Loches, and I’ve repacked in Paris. The suitcase has become smaller somehow. On Our last walk I took this photo of mistletoe in the trees. It grows in only some trees and the balls can get huge.

And one last picture of the beautiful spring blossoms.

We said goodbye to Loches this morning and hefted our suitcases into the belly of the bus.

We then switched to a train in Tours, and at Le Manns we switched to a larger train. It was the longest train ever! It took ages to walk to the train station once we got off our car. One last picture of the Tours train station.

We arrived at our hotel. I’ve decided that every room in this hotel looks out at the Eiffel Tower.

That’s our room on the top floor with the balcony.I did some shopping. I was in Paris after all. In the men’s stores they have scarves where the ties should be. Maybe that will catch on in Canada?

It was time for a break so we hit a cafe. This picture makes it appear there were only men there, but that’s not true.

I went the healthy route. French fries, French beer, and for dessert… crème brûlée. After lugging that suitcase all that way I felt I deserved it.

We went for a walk to say au revoir to the Eiffel Tower.

We got up close.

When we got back to the hotel we learned that Notre Dame Cathedral was burning. That explained the smoke in the air. Apparently it’s very bad. So sad.

Breakfast before our shuttle arrives to pick us up for the airport.

The shuttle was on time and we’re checked in. See you in Canada!

Love you all.
